Braving the Snow-pocolypse

The "snow-pocolypse" of 2015 will probably end up in history books. The mountains of snow piled up left and right. The sub zero temperatures are the worst Michigan has seen in a long time. Freezing wind chills are completely unbearable.

I can imagine that is how Don and Ryan felt as the wind whipped around them, piercing their faces while they raced to dig out a very stuck car.

Ryan Miller, Licensed Insurance Agent, received a phone call from his client, Devans, who called to ask if he had towing on his insurance policy. Ryan asked Devans if everything was okay only to find out his client was stuck in a mound of snow in a parking lot 5 minutes from the office.  Because of all the slide offs the average wait time for a tow truck was expected to be two to three hours.

Ryan didn’t think twice and suited up to brave the snow-pocolypse and help his client. Don Shampine, President of Michigan InsuranceGroup, always looking for an adventure, grabbed a shovel and followed Ryan to the snow buried car.

10 minutes of shoveling was enough to free Devans car. Devans says, “It’s pretty awesome my agent, coming out into the snow. I never expected that because no one has ever done that for me. It feels good knowing I have somebody there for me whenever I need.”

Now that is truly customer service, and it is not service you will find if you buy your insurance online. This brings to light another reason to shop local. Your agent can help you with coverage questions, quotes and occasionally help you out of a snowbank.
